Nuggets for Parents [7/3/12]

7 Dangers of the Internet & Kids[1] – Here is Part 2 of a 4-part series from the Biblical Counseling Coalition. “The World Wide Web is the greatest invention since the printing press. Nothing else has so radically shaped culture, media, commerce, entertainment, and communication. But with these benefits come great dangers all parents should know about.”
Sexting Rates[2] – “Researchers at the University of Texas Medical Branch also found that more than half of teens have been asked to send a nude photo of themselves to someone, and 31% had requested a naked picture to be sent to them.”
Second Generation Christians Are Sinners Still[3] – “[I]t seems that there’s an assumption that second generation kids don’t struggle with sin—as though, because their parents were saved and are super passionate about their faith, they’re somehow immune to original sin. But, Darling writes, ‘Good Christian kids who grow up with good Christian parents in good gospel-preaching churches still struggle with sin.'”
Worth Weeping For[4] – “We hate to see the tears of those who believe with all their might that a certain doctrine, practice, or sexual behavior is commended by Scripture when we know that Scripture does not….And yet, something should eat us up inside even more.”
