Meditate on God’s Word
by Paul Tautges | January 20, 2019 11:33 am
Since our church service was cancelled, due to heavy snow, strong winds, and extreme cold, we gathered in our Family Room to learn from Psalm 1. Here’s the outline that I walked the family through, discussing its truths, and applying it to our hearts. We learned that true success and prosperity come to those who meditate on God’s Word. The truth of Psalm 1 exhort us to practice two ongoing disciplines…
Follow the blessed path of the righteous (vv. 1-3).
- The righteous avoid ungodly counsel and influence (v. 1).
- The righteous delight in God’s Word (v. 2).
- The righteous experience true, spiritual prosperity (v. 3).
Flee the destructive path of the wicked (vv. 4-6).
- The wicked do not endure (v. 4).
- The wicked will not stand up to God’s judgment
(v. 5).
- The wicked will eternally perish (v. 6).
