NUGGETS – Modesty, Sexual Exploitation, and the Super Bowl

As in past years, so I did again. As soon as halftime arrived, I grabbed the TV remote and switched to another channel. So, I’ve not seen the halftime show described in these first two links, and will not watch recordings of it. As Franklin Graham points out, we should not expect unbelievers to act like believers. But neither should we carelessly expose ourselves or our children to the world’s unrestrained immorality.

A Response to the Super Bowl Halftime Show by Kayla Burkholder[1] – Girls of all ages were watching “role models” of powerful and beautiful women get on the biggest stage of the year while they shake their butts and be sexual for entertainment. Meanwhile all these girls that God created, loves, and adores are at home with their husbands, dads and boyfriends, many who have pornography problems, and that girl just felt what it feels like to not be good enough…AGAIN.

Evangelist Franklin Graham Blasts Super Bowl Halftime Show as “Sexual Exploitation”[2] – This exhibition was Pepsi showing young girls that sexual exploitation of women is okay. With the exploitation of women on the rise worldwide, instead of lowering the standard, we as a society should be raising it.

Modesty, Beauty, and Men. What Should We Care?[3] – Modesty is actually rooted in how we think about beauty. When God created us male and female, He designed us with profound differences that go down deep to the core of our personhood. Our femininity is the beautiful handiwork of our loving, heavenly Father, and one of our unique responsibilities is to develop and use this God-given beauty.
