NUGGETS [8/24/13]
Try to set aside 15 minutes this weekend to read these articles. The first one is a year old. I found it in a “to read” pile while de-cluttering my office this week.
The Disciplined Pursuit of Less – Some good advice from the Harvard Business Review: “We aren’t looking for a plethora of good things to do. We are looking for our absolute highest point of contribution.”
God’s Gag Reflex – “Be compassionate, yes. Without question, embrace those who are burdened by their sin. Absolutely, shower the homosexual community with great love and affection in the name of Christ. But do not use ‘compassion’ as an excuse for failing to call all who sin to “repent, for the kingdom of heaven at hand” (Matt. 4:17).”
Remembering the Christian Bookstore – Tim Challies’ experience mirrors mine almost exactly: “Christian bookstores played an important part in my life and in my spiritual development.”
