“And he said to them, ‘Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.'” – Mark 6:31
Beginning today, I am taking 40 days off from posting any new material here at Counseling One Another. I have also turned off the comment feature so that I am not tempted to be pulled back in. Through the counsel of my church elders, the Spirit has made it clear that some deliberate time off is necessary for my soul’s well-being and my family’s needs.
Writing is incredibly therapeutic for me and has become indispensable to my own personal growth and thinking process. As Thomas Jefferson is famous for declaring that he could not live without books, so I have learned over the years that I cannot live without writing. I simply can’t. It’s a part of the fabric of who God made me to be. Therefore, although I will not post new material here, I do plan to journal most days.
Please take advantage of the hundreds of articles that have been posted here since June 2011. There is food for your soul and resources for your own one-another ministry. Perhaps direct a few of your friends here, too. I look forward to “talking” to you again after December 6th.
May the Lord richly bless you as you continue to grow in the ministry of the Word to one-another. Never forget Jesus—the One who was filled with both grace and truth (John 1:14). Grace without truth is flabby and unproductive, ultimately. However, the opposite extreme is deadly: truth without grace destroys the spirit.
