Grief Diary 6: The Value of Grief – I’ve often shared this resource from Robyn Huck: “Our God grieves. And his grief caused him to show his love for us through a selfless sacrificial act that is more than we can imagine giving. He actually chose to take more grief upon himself in order to provide the ultimate solution to grief.”

The Ministry of Sorrow – Since last November, and the sudden and tragic loss of his only son, Tim Challies has transparently opened his heart to us more than once. In this article, he brings the example of five women of God to our attention, in order to help us appreciate what God accomplishes in us and through us, when we humbly embrace pain and suffering: “We should not long to suffer, but we should be willing to. We should not desire loss, but we should consent to bow the head, to bow the heart, to bow the knee, and to be a blessing to God’s people in whatever sorrows God ordains for us. When we surrender ourselves to God, we are meant to hold nothing back, but to give ourselves entirely to him, entirely to his hand, entirely to whatever he calls us to, even if it hurts.”

Consumed by God’s Love in Our Grief – “If you are in a season of grief right now, take comfort in knowing that you are not alone. There is nothing too hard for the Lord, even though it may feel as though the grief will never end. God will meet your needs.”
