A Groundbreaking Resource: The Family Disability Toolkit

It’s been more than three years in the making and, therefore, I am thrilled to introduce to you a brand new resource. Nothing like this has ever been published before! It’s the Family Disability Toolkit from Shepherd Press and Joni & Friends International Disability Ministry.

In December 2017, about sixty biblical counseling leaders met in Atlanta for the annual summit of the Biblical Counseling Coalition. It was an extra-special year, since we were privileged to have a handful of guests from the ministry of Joni & Friends International Disability Ministry, including Ken and Joni Tada. The purpose and aim of that year’s summit was to explore how biblical counseling and disability ministry could work hand-in-hand to meet the heart needs of discipleship among those affected by disability. This led to a publishing partnership between Joni & Friends and Shepherd Press, which has yielded some very refreshing fruit.

When disability enters a home, family members have many questions. How might disability affect our family relationships? Where can we go to find help? What does God’s Word advise us to do? The Family Disability Toolkit aims to address the questions that disability raises for family relationships by providing biblical and practical advice for moving forward as families. This includes the blessings as well as the challenges. God’s care for the first institution, the family, is abundant and effective.

The Family Disability Toolkit is six resources bundled together for savings.
